Living our lives without any type of plan is almost impossible. We have to plan our studies, or how to get food on the table, how to get a job etc. But what if you have no idea what it is you want to achieve in your life? I use journaling to help me with this issue. Here are some topics you can write about and hopefully achieve some clarity from them.

  1. If money, time and obligations wouldn’t be a thing what would you do? Is there a way to incorporate this into your life around your other obligations?
  2. If you would die in a year, what would you regret the most not doing?
  3. What books hit your heart and how could you incorporate what you learnt in them into your life?
  4. What did you love doing as a child, and could you still do it now?
  5. What things do you hate about your life, and what can you do to get rid of them or lessen their affect on it.
  6. What 10 things should you do more on a weekly basis.
  7. Open ended; just start writing without any goal or objective, write your feelings you thoughts our worries your happy ideas everything that you hand gets onto the paper. See if there is any answers that you didn’t even know that you were searching for.

This is a small but sure way to get some clarity. You can spend your Sunday for example thinking and writing while listening to calm music.

5 steps to a Miracle Morning

I personally am a morning person. I love waking up early and great the sunrise (well, during the summer I do, in the winter sun wakes up way too late for my schedule). First a disclaimer; you don’t have to wake up at 4 or 5 or what ever time the gurus say. But a morning routine, is going to get you into gear, even if you wake up at 12. Let’s get with the 5 steps!

Step one – Give yourself time

How many of us have woken up just in time to leave in 30 min. We made the coffee, spilled it on our white shirt. Kicked the table and almost squished the dog. Why don’t you wake up so you have 1 hour at least to get ready. You can actually drink your coffee or tea calmly? Let’s start the day in a relaxed mindset. There is time to through of the balance later too

Step two – Prep in the evening

I am sure you have hear this. Get your clothes ready, prep your breakfast etc. This take away the stress of having to prep everything in the morning and gives less time for you to make mistakes and forget important things. I have a check list that I need to have completed every evening. Work keys, phone, car keys, food ready to go. Check, check, check. I’d rather check 5 times than to run back and forth. Which I have done. (This is quite a new part in my routine)

Step three – Exercise

I don’t have too much time in the morning to think about fitness. I start work at 7. So I wake up at 5 as is ( sometimes earlier) BUT what I do have time for is stretching. And couple of jumps and getting the blood going in my body. So I get the day started. Proper fitness is an evening thing for me. I also get a friend with me to make it more appealing for me to go 😉

Step four – Attitude

I am just like anyone else. When the phone starts playing its alarm I want to smash it and throw it to Timbuktu. BUT I don’t. And I do a lot to get into the better mindset. Stretch. Breath deep in and out. Think of the good part of the following day. You get to listen to good music, you get to see your fabulous work team, you get to listen to the book on your commute. Or maybe give some scritches to you your pupper? All good reasons to get up. You will always find some shit in your life. Try not to search for it on purpose. It will find you on its own.

Step 5 – Time it

This sounds dumb. But honestly see how much time it takes for you to do all of the things you need/want to do. An example of a timetable would we; Hygiene 10 min. Makeup 10 min. Breakfast 15-20 min. Meditation 10 min. Getting dressed 5 min. Organize room and check everything is with you 10 min. All in total is 65 min. This is the time about that you need for your morning routine. For someone it could be 1.5 hours, for someone 45 minutes. Take what you need, and disregard the rest. Make it yours. A miracle morning is only a miracle if it works for you. Make sure it does!

All in all, it isn’t hard to plan it. Now you need to stick to it. What is your morning like? Do you wake up early or late?

Why I will only restart posting in 2 weeks time

Hi all!

I hope you guy have had an amazing time reading my blog. I have had a great time writing them… there is so much to read and to learn and to write about its making me SO EXCITED (can you tell 😉 )

This is however not working out to my advantage. When I started blogging I wasn’t aware of there being the best time to blog, or the best tags to use or how to use Instagram to my advantage. So I have to have a little pause in writing to figure all of this out.

The reason for this isn’t that I necessarily want to gain money for this (tho it would be nice in the future, I do try and work hard for these posts) the actual reason is that I do think that I have something to say and people would benefit from reading my blog. Plus I want to improve (duh personal development nut here… hellooo) so the more I get views the bigger chance I can get comments on the post. PLUS it will push me to make my content better and more engaging 😀 So slight pause in order to improve my content and blog on its own a little bit. See you in about 2 weeks (maybe a bit more… depends on a lot of things.)

How to change your life: Challenge 4/5

Mistake number 4 is: Trying to do too much at once.

I’ve touched on this before but I am going to say this again because I still haven’t accepted this as the truth but I am working on it. You can achieve amazing amounts and you can change more that one thing at a time.

BUT not in the same capacity.

If you want to start running for a marathon and at the same time become the bulkiest bodybuilder in the world, let’s face it that won’t happen. Now if you want to run a marathon and also wake up in the morning at 6 am, this might be possible. ross-findon-303091-unsplash

There are just levels of effort that certain things require. Let’s say that Marathon is an effort lvl 100 and Being the best bodybuilder is also effort lvl 100 you will know that it will be impossible to do those things. So it makes sense to take on rather waking up at 6 am that might be only on lvl 50.

Also, marathon practice can help you achieve waking up at 6 because you will be tired from practice thus sleep better and then its easier to wake up earlier. Marathon practice is going to hinder your bodybuilding on the other hand because running so much would take away some of your bulk.

Do you see where I am going here? Just pair your goals smartly and don’t do too much at once because you will tire your brain out then the only thing you will want to do is just sleep… trust me I’ve been there

Concentrating on me…blog comes second

So I have been writing blogs on and off since I was like…. 17? And I like writing but I do not hold myself to a great standard and that kind of sucks… I mean for me to be a good blogger who advocated for personal development I should actually lead by example and to be honest I don’t.

I feel like a fake doctor writing the blog and talking about how to live your life but still not even doing so myself… And I think it is time for me to take a long long pause. And just concentrate on the things I can change in me and my life, one step at a time. Without this feeling of pressure of already needing to be there…

I will most likely once in a while write. But this blog is going to be a hobby mostly. Maybe I will pick it up soon again maybe it will take years time… maybe it will never be my thing again. But for now. Do not expect consistency I need to concentrate on my actual life goals right now and that is to improve my health, mental physical and spiritual if you will 🙂

Changes changes changes

So, I have not been a bit over 2 months in exchange and I only have one month until exams (yes it is a short exchange, but I’ll have a couple of months to just enjoy the local life after exams 😉 )

While I have been here, I have been slacking off the blog, for that I am sorry. It has to do with the changes I am going through here and I feel like I want to change my blog up (again).

I feel I have been writing a lot of my opinions and views and not many things that would teach not only you but also me, while I research the subject. So from now on, that is my goal. To research new things, relating to health, wealth and overall life, and bring it to you in a concise little blog post. (Sometimes might not be that little.)

In order to make all those changes, I want to make sure that my blog is up to date and I have planned a couple of posts in advance so I always have something to post, even if I am very busy doing something. Therefore, please excuse me while the blog is under construction. I will keep all of my old posts, I still think they have a lot of insight and I also like having something I can look at and see how far I have come.

If you have something certain you would like to learn about, maybe tips for me on how to write better or anything that comes to mind, please put it in the comments. As always feedback is very appreciated.

Be taught and teach

For couple of days now I have been watching people from TOTALLY different specks of life tell their story, their vision on Tom Bilyeu’s show Impact Theory. And not only is all that I have watched been so extremely inspirational, I understood, that we ALL learn all the time AND that we all teach all the time. Let’s get deeper in my idea and what I think this could or should mean.

So my idea as a whole is that we suck information from our surroundings, people, books, online sources and so on. And this information can be true or untrue, wrong or right. That doesn’t matter because in order to learn something it doesn’t matter if it is true or not. It is enough that we believe that it is.

As we learn new things, we right away start teaching other. As kids, we are often told to say sorry if we do something wrong, right? So if someone does wrong to us and they don’t say sorry, we end up telling them about it. “Hey, my mommy says you have to says sorry if you do XYZ” And obviously this an VERY early on example, but I think you get the point.

I strongly believe, that realizing this fact, and absorbing this idea, could be a tremendous help. Imagine what the world would be like, if those people who write books, blogs, make youtube videos or hold long speeches, wouldn’t exist? No Aristotle, no Platon, no DaVinci, Voltaire, Oprah no Tom Bilyeu or anyone else you find has in a way or another influenced today’s world. If they wouldn’t exist or their works wouldn’t, there wouldn’t be knowledge.

Einstein could have written all his theories and said F*** this S*** and burned all that he figured out. Same goes to all the others. And that would just make our world of knowledge very very empty. Obviously this is just what if’s, but I swear I have a point here.

We learned all the things we have from other, normal people. So why is it that when we want to influence, our first reaction is that “I’m alone I can’t make impact”? I mean all the other people were alone with their thoughts, I mean especially the Philosophes, “normal” people rarely understood what they ment, because talk about meta philosophy sometimes.

What if all the influencer also would have thought that they can’t make an impact. And really do they even care? I mean if you think you have something worth spreading, it might now win a nobel price, BUT I am sure someone will read it. And if you work hard enough and long enough, I am sure you will gain the platform that will help you shoot the message you have to the wide audience.

And even if it doesn’t have this snowball effect where everyone will be cheering you onto a stage in front of thousands of attendees. It can be small things that, if a lot of people separately do, it will affect the masses.

For example, if  you want to lessen sexism, why wait for “influential ” people to make a difference. Teach the people around you, your kids, your friends, write blogs etc. Or you want someone  to be excited about math? Teach them that.

Attention, nothing can be force fed, or the person might choke on it. But by giving them an example, telling your opinion, in the end it might just be that your actions have made an impact to the world.

There is this paradox in everything, every one who ever became an influencer, was first all alone in their spreading of their belief. Many of them are dead, and got a following of thousands only after their death, BUT  no one can say that they didn’t make an impact.

Just choose your words and thoughts wisely, and let us all, work as individuals, to make our togetherness on this planet the  best it can be.

More questions less answers

We go to school, we learn daily new things. We answer thousands of questions. We read for exams that ask us factual questions. Questions we can answer with a date, a vocabulary word, or explaining chain of events in a way or another.  And that is great. It is important to learn how to answer straight forward questions with straight answers. But is that enough?

I do not think so. I believe that it would be so very important for people to analyse more philosophical questions. Questions that like of “What makes you happy, in day to day life?”. Or ” What do you think the world would need to make it a better place?” And these are hard questions. And chances are if you as this from a 7 year old the answer will be candy or more toys, or maybe nowadays it’d be WI-FI. But it doesn’t hurt to ask those things. Because even if one of 10 students actually gives something worthy of using in our day to day life, isn’t worth a shot? And sure, it is possible that no one else would get any value out of their answers. But it would make the students think. Like oh yeah, going on a walk with my dog makes me  happy, or hmmm my moms apple pie is to die for. And isn’t that just as important to teach about or if not teach make them think about it?

And this thinking about bigger questions could be added to actual subjects as well. For example in History. “What little things in this chain of events could have changed everything?” And then people would have to analyse History deeper, and maybe actually understand that history is not just dates and chains of events. It is people, feelings, pains and joys. And I believe in order to actually know history, you must understand the people the thoughts and actions not just the dates and names.

What I am trying to say here is that factual questions are great, but they do not do much on their own. We people question everything. And in order to remember somethings we have to be able to empathise with the situation. The feelings and thoughts we have are like the bones that add the meat to; which is the dates and names that otherwise mean nothing to us. That way we can somehow make these situations, questions and ideas important to us, and maybe even remember them better. For example in maths; “What should your monthly pay be in order to pay for rent that is X for water and electricity that is Y and for other stuff that is Z, remember to add taxes to your payments.”

What do you guys think, should we be asking more complex, feeling induced questions at school as well as in our personal life?

Make a decision and stick to it

I know what you are thinking. Thanks Alisa, that helped a lot. I sure as hell didn’t think you could have said anything more basic. And to that I will say, chill my friend. Just stick along and for what I have to say.

I am currently reading a book by Anthony Robbins; The Giant Within. Technically I am listening to it but you get my point. I am just starting up, but I am now in the part where he speaks about making decisions and how the choices we make can impact our whole life. But he makes a distinction between just a choice to see how things go and making a conscious decision to work for something. He goes as far as to state and we are so un used to making decisions we get lazy with it. That is why making a difficult important decision is so hard. And this got me thinking, how long I have lived my life in a way of just letting the current take me where it wants to.

What is Robbins idea for making our decision making muscle grow? Practice of course. Start making small decisions and sticking with them. You can do a big and a small decision just to see how it feels. And practice until you making a life changing decision won’t seem like “Oh well, but I wouldn’t be able to do that anyway.” Hell yeah you can, if you chose to do it.

I haven’t gotten further in the book, but I assume that Tony will talk about this at some point. I will still mention this as a thought. It isn’t enough to decide that I want thing A or I want to reach a million followers or what ever it is that your goal is. I would assume that a real decision requires action. You decide to do everything in your power to reach that goal, that idea, that step in your life.

How would this look in practice? I would think that not only do you decide what you want to do you make decisions on how to make it work and take action. Let’s try to see with an example shall we.  Let’s say you want to be a business owner:

  1. Decide what business you would want to own. Personal Development? Helping people find their missing relatives? What ever it is, just chose that.
  2. Decide to research the crap out of that topic. What type a business should it be. How much money to invest. How to market this project.
  3. Decide and make a email list, to whom you tell about this opportunity. (Beneficial if they are your targeted audience.
  4. Decide to invest, and do it.
  5. Start making daily decisions that make it possible to work on your business. If you are broke and investing right away isn’t a choice, make a decision to find a job to help pay for your dreams.
  6. Baby steps, even small decisions can have a big impact.

Questions for yourself

We love to question the world. Why are there stars, how did everything start? What happens if I do this, and so on. But  I suggest that for now, slow down, and start questioning yourself.

I have been searching for myself for quite a while now. I continue to do so. And I have found that there are a couple of questions that when directed at myself, help me understand who I am and what I want better. I am still confused and lost and wondering around this planet feeling like there is so much to understand but it has gotten easier.

  1. How do I want to feel? This isn’t my idea. This idea belongs to an author and entrepreneur Danielle LaPorte. She coins this idea in her book The Desire Map. What the book is about, is finding out what your own core desires are. The feelings you want your goals to give you. I haven’t read this book yet, but from the interviews I have listened to, it makes sense. (The book is definitely on my to- read list)
  2. How do I want others to see me? This might seem to be counter productive, I mean it has become a boom to not give a flying f*** about what others say or think. But really if you want people to see you as a productive person, what can you do for that be productive. Would you want others to perceive you as productive and hard working if you didn’t want to be those things? Probably not. This doesn’t mean that you should do what others want you to do. But find out who you want others to see you as and you might find a couple of answers of who you feel you are.
  3. What are my thoughts, what aren’t?  Sometimes we mix our own thoughts with other peoples?. Not because they force us to agree on something, but simply because we don’t stop to thing if we agree or not. It is after all easier not to think. And then sometimes we are taught to think a certain way and we, later on, realize that that isn’t our thought or dream. For example, someone might be born into a family full of doctors. But they don’t want to be a doctor. But the follow the footsteps of the family because they feel they have to. But are they happy? Probably not.
  4. What are my limiting beliefs? Maybe your beliefs are something that you yourself have taught yourself to believe. Or it might be a joke that a friend of yours said at your expense but you believed them. No matter how you ended up believing in that idea make sure you stop doing it. I am not saying you can fly from a balcony if you just believe enough. But you can learn math, you can improve drawing skills, you can become more fluent while writing/speaking. Every one of those things requires hard work. But I am telling you, YES YOU CAN. And don’t dare tell yourself otherwise.
